Barbara comes from a varied
art background. She grew up drawing horses. In her high school art classes
she learned to sculpt them from clay. The strength and beauty of these
majestic animals rooted her in the art field. She has used her varied
talents in such jobs as preparing glazed tile wall layouts to sign painting
and silk screen design to Illustrator for a NASA subcontractor.
After a ten year marriage,
in which she didn't work in the public, her husband died and she went
back to the business world but this time in an entirely different field.
She was in property management for seventeen years as an apartment manager.
Because of two life changing occurrences, one which was the death of
her precious Mother, she decided to take an early retirement and fulfill
a dream she had from early adulthood. That being to do what she loved,
to paint and do crafts for a living. She did the crafts for a while,
exclusively, and then decided to begin teaching art in some fashion.
While deciding what to paint, she discovered the One Stroke technique.
Well, that settled it, she was hooked! She was so impressed with the
"instant gratification" of it, she signed up for the One Stroke
Certified Instructor class, got her certificate and "hung out her
shingle"! Now she gets to share her God given talent with other
people who want to learn to paint.
You can find Barbara presently
at the Webster, Texas Michael's store where she holds a minimum of three
classes a week. For more information, email by clicking here.
