Background

Let me tell you how I came about learning this technique created by Donna Dewberry. While looking for a way to supplement my income, I came upon a beautiful sample of One Stroke Painting offered at one of the local craft stores in my area. I was intrigued and inspired so I signed up for the class. That was in March 2002 and in June I took Donna's One Stroke Painting Certification class in Tallahassee, FL. I had mentioned to the event co-ordinator at the Michael's store near me that I was going to get certified and she told me that as soon as I did she wanted me to start teaching classes there at the store. She had taken a couple of classes and like me was totally hooked on One Stroke! I now teach three classes a week and she is my most faithful student. What is so rewarding to me is the fun the whole class has as we eagerly dive into each new lesson. I love the elation of the students when they've been struggling with getting a leaf or a petal right and suddenly it "clicks" as to how to do it. Most say they are totaly surprised at how quickly they've learned the technique. I continue to be inspired and try to paint anything that stays still long enough!
